Test
Step 1: Place rice in a bowl and add enough water to cover the rice by 1-2 inches. Use your fingers to gently rub the rice and swirl the water around. The water will start to look muddy and milky. Drain the water and repeat this process 3-4 times till the water starts looking pretty clear. This process washes away the starch, reducing stickiness in cooked rice.
Step 2: Soak the rice for the amount specified above for 30 minutes.
Step 3: Add oil and keep the lid on the utensil and place it on the stove. cook on medium high heat until the water comes to a boil. Then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer until the rice is fully cooked and the water is absorbed. Turn off the gas and let it rest for a few minutes before opening the lid.
